All the things!

Anyone who’s popped in on my humble blog knows that I have my fingers in a lot of different pies. Most of these things revolve around music, cats, or websites.

I’m working on a piece for my upright bass called Adoration. It looks easy enough, but the fingering is weird. It’s also a rather slow legato piece, so you really have to concentrate to make the notes sound pretty. I’m happy with my progress. My instructor says it’s an “intermediate” piece. I’ve been playing double bass for just over a year now. When I get it a bit more polished, I’ll post it to my YouTube channel. I’m glad that I am getting beyond the “kiddie” songs.

Now that winter is just around the corner, we need to make sure our community cats have adequate shelter. We built one last year for the one cat that liked hanging with us (Lil Googie). Now, it seems like they all want to hang out with us. I guess we have better grub than the neighbors. It probably also doesn’t help that Hubs likes to toss bits of our Boar’s Head turkey meat out the window.

I also help out a couple of friends with their websites.  My friend Kayleigh Ann is the front woman for a band called Wisher. If you like prog metal like Avenged Sevenfold and Dream Theater, you should check them out. They are rising stars! When they go big time, remember that you heard about them here first. 😜

I’ll also be migrating Thistle Rose Academy of Arts site from Wix to WordPress. I’ve worked with a lot of platforms. WP has its quirks, but Wix really sucks.
