I have a lot of challenges, but I’ll focus on an issue I’ve been mulling over recently…

It’s the challenge to decide what I should pay attention to. There are so many distractions, and only so much time in a day. The glut of social media and the 24-hour news cycle offers a smorgasbord of information to distract, obfuscate, and even enrage. How much is actually useful?

Never fear, algorithms ensure I’ll get all the news I “really care about” upfront and center on every device I own.

Many say that time is a priceless resource, but really, it’s just a raw material. Your attention is the real resource. It’s bought and sold every day by social media platforms and marketing companies. Our attention is the battery that makes the things that annoy us the most keep running, kind of like the Matrix.

It’s kind of scary when you consider the possible implications.
