Inspire Tuesday ~ January 21, 2025

Welcome to my second installment of Inspire Tuesday. Last week, I told the story of Drew Davis, a high school student with Cerebral Palsy who started a hot sauce business.

This week, my inspiration was found a little closer to my own stomping ground – Warren, Michigan, to be exact.

This is the story of Lillian Holt. She is a single mom with two boys, making ends meet by working the night shift at a local factory. Like many, she has been struggling financially. Recently, she even had her son sell his Playstation 4 to pay the bills.

The Warren police were called to her house recently for a welfare check. When officers Stanko and Rossow arrived at the house, they knew something was amiss. There was little furniture and no beds in the Holt’s home.

Without even checking in with their department, the officers stepped up to help her out. They started making phone calls and were able to bring her family some donated furniture. They also bought her groceries with their own money and even managed to get a local Walmart to donate a bed.

That’s what we do,” said Lt. Jon Gajewski, “we’re here to help, and these officers took that to the next level. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

So kudos to these fine boys.
