A nice walk in the woods

I just want to share a few images I took yesterday while hiking.  Hubs and I took the day off to enjoy the last few nice days in Michigan. The trees are in transition, and it’s still fairly warm.

Fall has always been my favorite season. The air is crisp apple, with a hint of smoke and spice. I find myself purposely shuffling through the fallen leaves just to hear the sound.

Freya, our beagle, loves this place. Well, she’s a beagle, so she pretty much loves everything. But she really loves being in nature.

And food. All the food.

We walked about four miles today. We may be back for our anniversary in a couple of weeks. We got married on Halloween, and all Michiganders know Halloween weather can be a crap shoot.

But we will be back – God willing and the creeks don’t rise. 😉

      Thank you! Fall is the one thing I really missed when I lived in FLA. That, I couldn’t find a decent coney island diner. 😉

    Great picture, I am already shivering thinking of the winter to come. Michigan winters can be so nasty. But then I am not a fan of those 33, 4, 6 months ahead.

      My hubs isn’t fond of the cold either. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t bug me so much until around February. By then, I get real tired of “bundling up.” 😜

    Gorgeous pictures! Fall is such a lovely time of year. Spring is too, but it tends to be muddier (which I quite dislike) so Fall’s my favourite.

      Yes! Agree, spring is muddy, but we typically are so happy it’s above 45° F, we don’t care 😜
