I met Murphy during my latest doctor visit. He’s a therapy dog. His trainer takes him around to hospitals and airports for people to meet and pet. I was surprised when they came into the waiting room. The lady asked if anyone wanted to meet Murphy, and everyone just stared at her. I popped up right away.
“ME!”
I love big dogs. I love animals in general, so you don’t have to twist my arm too hard to do a meet and greet with a furry friend.
Now that I’m in my 50s, I find myself in at least one waiting room a month. My biggest issue is with kidney stones. I’ve had a couple that were so big I needed a percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Essentially, they stick a straw in your back and suck it out.
I’m pretty normal otherwise – no high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.
Anyway, it’s been a busy weekend. My band had a gig at the Fire & Ice Festival on the riverfront. It’s our third year playing it. It’s cold, but it’s a lot of fun. We really lucked out with the weather. It was about 35°F. It was in the teens most of the week, so this felt “warm,” The temps dipped a bit today, and we got more snow.
This starts my busy months. Rowdy O’Reilly only does a few gigs a year. As you can probably guess, they are almost all centered around St. Patrick’s day. Hubs and I are also taking a big trip in February. We’re going on a 13-day cruise from Sydney to Auckland. Sure, it sounds fun, but daunting also.
Despite my shortage of time, I’m starting a new post theme this Tuesday. I’m actually pretty excited about it. It’s much less self-serving than my “Sunday Selfie.” With a little luck, it may just be uplifting. 😉
