Write about a few of your favorite family traditions.
Why do I roll smoke?
Why must I live out the songs that I wrote?
I’m not much into country music, but my band, Rowdy O’Reilly, does Family Traditions by Hank Williams Jr. It’s a fun song, mostly because of audience participation. We can do a craptastic job of it, and people still love shouting
To Get Drunk!
To Get Stoned!
And so on…
As for my own traditions…
My hubs and I celebrate our meet-up day. We met via match.com. After a few days of texting back and forth, making sure we both weren’t serial killers and had most of our teeth, we met at a local Starbucks. Seven months later, he presented me with an engagement ring. We married on Halloween day, 2020. I guess we are doing well. I haven’t killed him yet. 😉
Anyway, since we have been together, we meet at the same Starbucks on March 10. We will even take separate cars, and I walk in first and find a table, just like the first time.
It’s a little silly but fun, too – just like the Hank Williams Jr. song.
