Just say no

How often do you say β€œno” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Personally, I have never had too much of a problem saying no. It happens on an occasion.  I’ve said yes to something begrudgingly out of duty. Or when I was younger, I’d go along because “everyone else was doing it.” If I’ve ever done anything right in my life, I’d say I’ve done a pretty good job of keeping balance in my life. I’m active, but not overwhelmed.

This is a real struggle for some people. It reminds me of a gal I used to run with when I lived in FLA. On our long morning group runs, she’d talk about the enormous amount of things she had lined up. Volunteer for this, take care of that. Her stress levels were obvious, and she never seemed to do anything for herself.

I did my best to be a good listener. I remember sending her a really well-written article on the power of saying no. She appreciated it, but I don’t know that she ever embraced it. She always said she would try, but nothing has changed to the best of my knowledge.

It’s my belief that saying no will help you do what you say yes to, better.

Balance is everything.

It’s important to know when to say no to other others so you can say yes to yourself

Absolutely! I had to say “no” even to this blog for a few months while I worked on other things. It’s all about prioritizing πŸ˜‰
