Well, as a matter of fact…

If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?

My hubs and I just started a shop.

Literally, hubs came up with the idea two weeks ago. We have since registered our LLC, purchased a domain name name, got an EIN, and mocked up a logo. We still need to set up a business bank account, get the website up, and register with Etsy.

So what’s the focus? Rare, vintage, and quirky books. Oh, yeah, no one has thought of that before 😜. We know there are plenty of other sites that do the same thing. Will we be able to differentiate ourselves from the others? I think so, but time will tell.

We have about 200 books in inventory right now. Here’s an interesting one we picked up just yesterday.

This book is a collection of essays warning about Nazism. It was published in 1934, a full five years before the war broke out in Europe, and the term wasn’t very well known. There are plenty of things written after the fact, but not much before. So even without the knowledge of the path of destruction it would leave, there were people who thought it was a pretty terrible idea. We think this is a pretty neat find.

Right now, we are discussing merch. We have a cool logo, so hubs is all over putting it on a mug and tote bag. I think it’s a little “cart before the horse,” but he’s excited, and it’s actually a fun idea. I’ll let him run with it. 😉

So, if you are into rare, vintage or quirky books, keep mojo-bookstore.com bookmarked. There’s nothing there yet, but I should have a “Coming soon” page up in a couple of days.
